Since Spring sprang a few weeks ago and since I have been truly inspired by so many lovely ideas on Pinterest and from the realms of the bloggy world, it has been said that it is finally my turn to get something Springy d-o-n-e! (And also because Summer is right around the corner!!)
I took down my Valentine wreath (the only Valentine décor that I had this year…boohoo) from my front door and created this super simple Springy wreath.
What do you need to get it done:
1. Any type of wreath form. I used a straw form only because it was $4.99 at Hobby Lobby, compared to the others at $11.99ish.
2. Green natural sheet moss and neutral colored spanish moss.
3. Any type of small flowers. I used artificial but dried would work just as well.
4. Burlap…this was an after thought and I used what I already had on hand.
5. Hot glue gun and scissors
Here’s how it all went down:
I began by hot gluing the sheet moss on sections onto the wreath form.
Then I glued the Spanish moss into the empty sections.
Then I randomly placed groupings of the small white flowers.
I finished it off by cutting a rectangular piece of burlap. Approximately one inch into the burlap (along the longer side) I pulled one piece of the string gathering the burlap as I went. I pulled the same piece of string from the other side as well until it formed a circle. Then I tied the two strings together. Then I attached the “flower” to the wreath and wa-la it was complete!
I used another small piece of burlap to attach the wrath to my wreath hanger.
I am loving how it turned out and is a nice contrast with my red front door. I think that I have about $20 into it and approximately an hour of my time!! Oh, how I love simple projects…sometimes it is nice to put away the power tools and just pick up the glue gun!
Please let me know what you think. I adore each and every comment and try to always get back to you. And, if you decide that you would like to follow along on my adventures please let me know so I can follow you back!
