I have been working relentlessly today to update the surfaces of my window boxes. I hope to share the finished product with you later this week. Right now my arms are so tired from sawing that I can barely type.
I always use my handy-dandy miter box and hand saw for all of my projects. My dear sweet husband saw how hard I was working today and surprised my with my own Compound Miter Saw…an early Mother’s Day present. To say the least, I am so excited!! This changes my life!
Once I get my boxes updated, I need to get my flowers picked out to fill them up. I have been scouting for some great ideas and found a few to share.
The next three pics are from BHG. What I love about this site is that they give you the exact flowers that you need to obtain this look.
I love the overfilled look. I always struggle to achieve this…I think this year is going to be different!
Then I stumbled upon this awesome blog post that answers so many questions about what should be planted in a window box. The next two pics come from The Impatient Gardner. This is a must read if you are planning on doing a window box.
Do you love the all purple like I do??
I also saw a recent post from Apartment Therapy with some very unique window box ideas. Check out the next two pics from them.
I think that this pic was taken in my dream garden. I love the window box but I also love the planters, the shutters, the vines, and the little “A” on that awesome siding!!
I am not sure if I picked this pic for the window box or for the amazing color of the building in contrast to the simplicity of the window boxes.
This also exemplifies how you do not need to have a huge mass of flowers with a big fancy box…it is just perfect!
I love flowers and cannot wait to get my boxes done so I can get my hands dirty!
